I am responsible for teaching courses, conducting research projects, and managing programs in the College of Education. I am the program director for a Master's certification program. In this role, I work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the delivery of accredited programming that meets state requirements. I supervise graduate student researchers and a post doctoral research fellow. I lead teams to work on program development, evaluation, and continual improvement plans. I am responsible for teaching courses in the teacher education program. This work includes instructional planning and delivery of course content, evaluating student work and dispositions for teaching, providing mentoring support as needed, and participating in on-going program improvement. I also carry out a qualitative research agenda related to teacher education. This work includes securing funding for projects, budget management, data collection and management, promoting funded projects, publishing and presenting results nationally and internationally, among other duties. Finally, participate in a variety of service projects in the form of committee work, special community projects and advising graduate students, among others.

I worked in a variety of related roles during my time as a graduate student at the University of Texas. They all addressed aspects of professional development and education for undergraduate students, high school students, and teachers. I taught required coursework and monitored student progress. I worked with university faculty to design educational experiences and managed an education outreach program. Throughout my time at the University of Texas I gained knowledge in skills with team-building, goal setting and goal attainment, and overseeing program compliance with state regulations for teacher education.
During my time with AISD, I served as a fifth grade ESL teacher, the lead teacher for afterschool programming, lead mentor teacher for new middle school teachers, and Instructional Coach for Middle grades literacy. I took on increasing supervisory responsibilities over time with district. My responsibilities included instructional design and delivery of approved curriculum, creating and maintaining after school enrichment programming (including contracting with community partners), providing professional learning experiences for new and veteran teachers, and leading grade level teams to establish and reach student achievement goals.
I taught a variety of theatre courses including acting and technical theatre. I also served as the UIL one act play coach and was responsible for directing the play and coordinating our participation in the competition. I established a student employment program so that students could be paid for working in the school's theatre during district sponsored events. I also directed three productions a year in addition to the UIL one act.
I worked on a variety of local crews including wardrobe, electrics, and properties for the Best of Broadway touring series, touring rock shows, trade shows. I served as dresser for principle actors and signers and also became familiar with various aspects of production including budgeting, payroll, and staffing.
