  • Drive 10 speed and automatic commercial trucks to pick up and deliver auto parts and supplies to local EV Automaker in 53' dry vans. Perform detailed pretrip and post trip inspections in compliance with DOT and Ryder regulations. Report defects to Dispatch and assist with moving equipment to shop for repair. Perform all necessary functions of a Safe and Successful Commercial Driver in accordance with DOT and Ryder regulations.
  • Perform road tests and judge new hire applicants' abilities on all equipment including but not limited to, commercial day cab and sleeper trucks and dry van trailers. Report findings to Management and work closely with them to determine suitability to the job requirements. Train new hires to successfully integrate with Ryders high level of safety expectations.

    Perform daily, weekly and monthly observations on drivers and equipment audits to maintain high level of safety according to company standards.

    Supervise drivers and yard for safety, compliance and efficiency, and assist management with any corrections and/or repairs, including working with property owners to facilitate all necessary actions.

    Assist remote management team with retraining and all necessary corrections of unsafe driver actions and behaviors. Document and submit all corrective actions to Management and Safety Teams for approval. At the same time, act as a driver advocate if the safety team incorrectly interprets a driver's actions as unsafe.

    Preform monthly audits on all local trucks and trailers to assure high level of operational DOT compliance. Work with remote management to repair and correct all manner of deficiencies with regard to trucks and 53' dry van trailers.

    At the end of the day, I was "boots on the ground" for anything a remote management team needed me to do/be/see/prepare/accomplish at all times. Also, I was available 24/7 for management or drivers by phone to assist with elogs, routes and all manner of difficulties or needs that a driver could encounter while performing his/her daily duties.
