Our family has owned registered Holsteins since 1915 and has promoted and marketed them worldwide for nearly 60 years. I expanded that to include the marketing of frozen bovine embryos in 1993. It has developed into a major part of our farm income for over 20 years. My specific duties with this included:
* Identifying which females would be marketable and promoting them through worldwide breed publications to develop sales.
* Daily individual care for those females, including special veterinary needs above and beyond normal daily care.
* Hosting tours of potential buyers from six different continents.
