  • Responsible for System test and integration of network elements and application software.
  • Troubleshot complex multi-vendor network service provider issues. Provide Tier 4 for various Operations groups; ie, NOC, VOIP Repair, etc.
  • Coordinate and lead Network Maintenance and Migration activities.
  • Design, implementation and support of comprehensive passive network monitoring strategy, including tap and aggregation.
  • System experience with Oracle Eagle STP, Ribbon/Sonus softswitch(SGX/PSX), NetScout, Apcon, Juniper switches, Nortel DMS. Operating systems include Linux, Solaris, MAC OSx.
  • Protocol experience includes SIGTRAN, SS7 MTP, SCCP, TCAP, AIN, SIP, RTP/RTCP.

Senior Manager SS7/SCP Engineering

  • Directly responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of Qwest’s AIN products onto Qwest’s enhanced SCP system in addition to the duties of SS7 Engineering below
  • Responsible for Architecture and Design of the Qwest National STP/SS7 Signaling backbone including SSP/SCP homing as well as implementation of Carrier Quad interconnection.
  • Planned and executed 3 to 5 STP pair Replacement and expansion program.
  • The SCP provides (TCAP) interface to the Qwest voice network and is leveraged to provide advanced telephony services such as Enhanced 800, voice based Virtual Private Network (VPN), and Local Number Portability (LNP)
  • Synergized Qwest and Alcatel teams to integrate a 4th pair of SCP platforms into the Qwest Signaling Backbone
  • Integrated Qwest SCP’s with ESI’s Number Manager
  • Enabled Qwest to realize LNP savings in excess of $2M quarterly
  • Duties also include vendor technical management, integration testing, and deployment of STP and SCP Application software.

  • Directly responsible for the design, planning, implementation, and architecture of the Qwest Worldwide Signaling backbone
  • Duties also include Signal Transfer Point (STP) vendor technical management, integration testing and deployment of STP software generics, network standards definition, operations training, and negotiating of ILEC/HUB interconnection agreements
  • Directly responsible for 3 separate STP pair activation/integration projects as well as 1 STP pair replacement project
  • Successfully deployed one of the industries first ATM High Speed Link applications in May, 1998
  • Directly responsible for vendor technical management, test, and deployment of Qwest’s SS7 Network Management System (NWV7), which is used as a surveillance, traffic analysis, planning, and troubleshooting tool.

  • Duties include design of network architecture, SSP homing plans, definition of routing and gateway screening, and global title translations (GTT) schema’s

  • Implemented Qwest’s first GTT applications to support Enhanced 800 products
  • Duties also included assembling and training the SS7 Provisioning and Install team which is charged with all SS7 link provisioning, translations, testing, certification, and activation.
