- Plan, organize, and supervise the daily work of personnel in the maintenance, operations, repair, and construction of the city's water system, sewer system storm water system, streets, community services (parks and cemetery) and pubic facilities.
- Coordinate the schedule, preparation and installing of cemetery burials.
- Develop estimates for the repair, maintenance, and construction activities of the utilities, streets, parks, cemetery and city facilities. Coordinates projects with other city departments and contractors.
- Respond to calls outside of the regular work week to coordinate or assign personnel address emergency situations such as water main breaks, snow removal/sanding, damage street signs or other utility problems.
- Monitor laboratory data obtained from water and sewer system samples for the compliance with state requirements. Monitor all local state and federal permits issue to the city for water, sewer and storm water system.
- Assist in the administration of the utility systems by maintaining required records, logs, maps, blueprints and charts; documenting activities and ordering material for maintaining inventory.
- Assist in ;budget preparation, prioritizing projects, justifying requests and tracking expenditures.

- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot a utility system operation and maintenance problem along with planning and implementing a preventive maintenance program
- Ability to read, interpret and understand maps, blueprints, manuals and diagrams
- 20 plus years of operating heavy equipment including backhoes, 3 axle dump trucks and trailers, excavators, vactor trucks, dozers and currently have Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
