  • Awarded Military Police (MP) position at the culmination of 12-week basic training and an additional 12 weeks of intensive, specialized MP training. Currently serve as Internment Resettlement Correctional Specialist protecting lives and property, guarding inmates at the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Previously supported battlefield operations and provided physical security for detainee operations during overseas assignment in Iraq.
  • Conducted head counts to ensure that each prisoner is present. Monitor conduct of prisoners in housing unit, or during work or recreational activities, according to established policies, regulations, and procedures, to prevent escape or violence.
  • Inspected conditions of locks, window bars, grills, doors, and gates at correctional facilities to ensure security and help prevent escapes.
  • Recorded information, such as prisoner identification, charges, and incidences of inmate disturbance, and keep daily logs of prisoner activities.
  • Searched prisoners and vehicles and conduct shakedowns of cells for valuables and contraband, such as weapons or drugs. Inspect mail for the presence of contraband.
  • Maintained records of prisoners' identification and charges. Use weapons, handcuffs, and physical force to maintain discipline and order among prisoners.
  • Processed or booked convicted individuals into prison. Fulfilled a range of MP duties for both combat and peacekeeping missions.
  • Provided for public safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, and protecting people and property. Guard facility entrances to screen visitors.
  • Recorded facts to prepare documentation incidents and activities. Monitor, note, report, and investigate suspicious persons and situations, safety hazards, and unusual or illegal activity.

Maintained proper distance and kept integrity of prisoner movements not allowing other vehicles into our transport line.
  • Conducted numerous high risk inmate moves inside and outside facility escorts, as an armed and unarmed escort.
  • Provided security as a Tower Guard and Mobile Security to deter escape attempts and unauthorized items to be tossed into or out of the facility perimeter.
  • Oversaw and scheduled numerous appointments for inmates outside the facility, coordinating with multiple hospitals and clinics.
  • Conducted safety and sanitation inspections in open bays and solitary cells to ensure health codes where being adhered to.
  • Acted as area Fire Marshal and went to training to get certified.
  • Made slides for training of my seniors, peers, and subordinates then gave class to keep them current for quarterly and annual training requirements.
  • Supervised and coordinated work of other correctional service officers.
  • Settled disputes between multiple inmates using my crisis management and personal communication skills resulting in zero fights breaking out in my areas while on duty.

  • Transported trailers from Target's North Carolina distribution center to surrounding states arriving within the allotted timeline. Dropped off target trailers to the designated store at the correct loading door then returned with the correct empty trailer back to the DC. Would have to verify some return loads with the Target logistics center if they had trash and debris returning instead of an empty trailer.
  • Conducted daily inspections for the truck and trailer to ensure they were safe and in compliance with DOT regulations.

  • Act as Shift Supervisor during absence of Corporal, such as conducting Headcounts to ensure each inmate is present and accounted for in their proper location.

  • Conduct Performance Evaluations on scheduled timelines for all personnel under my supervision.
