Work History

Assembler IV/Trainer

Zetec Inc.
03.2020 - Current

I build, test and document a variety of inspection probes and equipment for nuclear reactors that are used by military and civilian installations both domestically and around the world including the U.S. Navy and reactors in France, South Korea, Japan and several European countries.

My work requires use of a variety of instruments to document the electrical and physical properties of the finished product meets the tolerances described in the drawings and technical literature as well as writing new work instructions including pictures of each operation for training.

I am competent in the use of Impedance analyzers, DVMs, LC meters, height gauge and surface plates, optical comparitors and a variety of eddy current and ultrasonic instruments from all major NDT equipment suppliers. I have also used a microscope in my daily tasks for over 20 years.

assembler IV

Olympus NDT
10.2005 - 02.2020
  • I was responsible for all jet engine probes for the US air force RFC program for over10 years
  • These probes are very high compliance probes with extremely tight tolerances both on the sensor and the physical body of the probe. I personally built all the sensors and probe bodies for this program.
  • They utilize reflection differential coils that are tuned to a very tight set of parameters and the government required me to show documentation of a variety of tests including pictures and serial numbers for each sensor, printouts of resistance, inductance balance and delta as well as physical size
  • At certain times during this period Olympus was the only approved vendor for these probes and we produced them for many foreign air forces as well as US
  • For the last several years I have been responsible for all assembly of rotating scanners at Olympus
  • These include the RA2000, MiniMite Fischer and Lemo as well as the Spitfire2000
  • The Spitfire and RA2000 required me too build the scanner control boards as well as assemble the body of the scanner housings, spindle assembly, transformer and transformer housing assembly as well as winding the coils needed for the transformers
  • Many of these also were sold to government agencies both US and foreign

assembler

EC/NDT
11.1998 - 10.2005
  • Assembly of coils and probes for a variety of customers from military to civilian aircraft
  • Very small shop, was responsible for all aspects of production of engine probes, bolt hole probes, spot probes, MAUS probes, wheel probes etc
  • Including packaging, shipping and receiving
