  • As a deckhand on a commercial fishing vessel safety is number one priority on and off the ship. I've helped enhanced safety standards by utilized Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) assuring the ship has proper lifesaving equipment, lifejackets, life rafts, immersion suits, first aid kits, and flares.
  • Utilized proper lifting techniques, conducting preventative maintenance checks and services in compliance with the equipment's technical manuals, maintenance charts, parts manuals and PMCS checklists on different types of machinery and tooling, pallet jacks, 6k - 15k gas/diesel/electric powered forklifts, dip nets, lines, bowie's, cutting, banding and sealing equipment.
  • If needed I complete and attached inspection tags to items classified as unserviceable, repairable, or condemned.
  • I've been trained on, job hazard analysis (JHA), and standard operating procedures (SOP) that involve manufacturers repair manuals, technical manuals, schematics and computer printouts.
