Manage an eight-member investment accounting team (two senior accountants, one specialist, five investment accountants) responsible for maintaining the Accounting Book of Record (ABOR) for a ~$120 billion state pension fund spanning public, private, and derivative investments. Report to the Assistant Director of Investment Accounting, Operations, and Compliance, collaborating closely with investment operations, front-office portfolio teams, custodians, and derivative counterparties.

• Oversee daily cash reconciliation, derivative margin processing, non-DVP wire activities, and all back-office accounting for private alternative partnerships.
• Lead the monthly ABOR–general ledger integration and annual investment data aggregation supporting the fund’s GASB-compliant ACFR.
• Spearhead automation initiatives using Power Query, Power Automate, VBA, and SimCorp tools, significantly reducing manual processing. Many such efforts involved coordination with consultants, as well as developing RFPs for new vendor technologies.
• Provide ongoing mentoring through weekly one-on-one meetings and project-based coaching.

Led audit engagements within PwC’s Asset & Wealth Management practice, focusing on 1940-Act mutual funds, university endowments, and other institutional investment vehicles. Supervised staff, coordinated with clients and administrators, and evaluated internal control environments and financial-statement compliance under GAAP and SEC regulations.
