  • I developed a "Be Safe Designate" program that was designed to reduce the number of impaired boaters on the waterways, thus making the waterways in my patrol zone safer for the public. The average Boating Under the Influence (BUI) arrest from Labor Day to Memorial Day was 45 BUIs in my patrol zone. With my campaign, which included cooperation from multiple law enforcement agencies, restaurants, and marinas, we only had three BUIs the entire summer. It was very successful.
