My personal experience has lead me to desire working in a recovery setting. i went through programs at OHL, including long term. My question has evolved to "why this program didn't keep me from relapsing." Through continuous work in the AA program, I have realized my many character defects played a huge part in my relapses. The key aspects of "willingness, honesty, and having an open-mindedness" are the keys to recovery. If I'm not willing, nothing is going to keep me sober. While I have not worked in a recovery center, I have been though treatment three times. I understand the protocols of treatment and have seen the need for both discipline and understanding. I feel like I can be a positive influence on those in recovery and to your organization.
