Accomplishments

  • In 2023, I trialed new pilot program that required all container vessels calling at Pier 400 Los Angeles to complete a Pre-Arrival Vessel Inspection prior to berthing. We successfully implemented this process and maintained a 92% success rate and detected over 30 hazards that were resolved prior to stevedoring operations, eliminating injury incidents.
  • In 2022, I successfully maintained a TRIR of 0.98, and a DART of 0.00 in Warehouse & Yard Operations for FY 2022 - 2023. This was a significant reduction as compared to FY21 where the facility had a TRIR of 12.1 prior to me joining the organization. We also had zero accidents involving forklifts for all dock and interior warehouse operations.
  • In 2021, I planned and implemented the company-wide rollout of a proactive injury and illness prevention program overhaul, partnering with field management and supervisory staff and effectively reduced overall accidents (TRIR and DART) by 40% across 25 facilities in 15 states totaling over 15 million sq ft.
  • Received the Going the Extra Mile Award (GEM) and Certificate of Recognition in 2022 for improving the safety culture in our Seattle, WA branch and reduction of injuries and accidents overall by 60% in 2021-2022.
  • Received the Making a Difference Award in 2019 for dedicating efforts to reducing academic failures in student cohorts by delivering new effective academic counseling programs.
  • In 2018, Introduced new municipal codes and compliance procedures in the City of Signal Hill to effectively reduce construction waste and debris from entering the normal waste stream and diverting it to recycling centers to be compliant with CalRecycle.
  • in 2017, collaborated with a local artist and student organizations to build an art installation at Cal State Long Beach to bring awareness to the legal protections of undocumented students and immigrant rights.
