- At Cardinal Health, I performed various tasks, including unloading trailers of pharmaceuticals with a stand-up forklift called a dockstocker. My job involved separating the product into controlled, refrigerated, and ambient categories.
- I would also receive products into our system, which would involve unwrapping, counting, and scanning each item into a gun unit, matching lot numbers to products, and verifying the packlist.
- I would also often be put in the receiving office where I’d be responsible for checking trucks in, breaking seals, keeping track of trucks and where they were located, and filing and importing information such as arrival time, temp of the trailer, which dock door it was in, and into a spreadsheet, and dealing with drivers’ needs and wants.
- I often helped other departments that were struggling to keep up with the desired outtime, whatever the task.
- I put away on a reach truck, a standup forklift with extending forks. My job was to cut plastic, pull empty pallets out of the racking, and put the new pallet in the spot.
- I did put away an order picker (cherry picker), a stand-up forklift that would lift you into the air to reach high places. My job with this task was to take organized cubes to the put-away location, scan the product into the location, and then neatly put them away.
- I would often help out on the outbound and refrigerated side of things, picking. This was often done on either an order picker or a reach truck. My job was to neatly pick product batches for our customers and ensure everything was ready for our dock team to load and get orders out on time.
- I would be asked to train new hires in their roles, typically on order picker put-away or case pick. I would walk them through how to do the job function and try to help them pick up speed to meet the hourly rate we had to meet.
- I had special access to our cage and vault for our controlled product, and would help team members who didn’t have this access run product to those areas due to DEA policies.
- I was often looked to for new ideas about processes and how to improve them.
