Marlena Reyes, School Counselor

Corona-Norco Unified School District

To whom it may concern:

My name is Marlena Reyes, and I am the school counselor at John Adams elementary school. It is with great pleasure that I write this letter on behalf of Jenisa Law. Among her many qualities, Jenisa is easy-going, kind, intelligent, creative, collaborative, organized, and helpful. I have known Jenisa for about 8 years. It feels like I have known her my whole life. She is the kind of person that you connect with immediately, feel so comfortable with that they are like family. Jenisa and I met when she joined the John Adams Parent Teacher Association (PTA) executive board. She is a do-er and immediately integrated into the group. She was not only helpful, but she also took on pivotal board roles. Over the years Jenisa has held the top two most crucial roles, President and Treasurer. Rotating the two every two years. They are the hardest working positions on the board and Jenisa continues to alternate because she is not only hard working but by far the most capable.

As President Jenisa’s role is to maintain the integrity of the PTA. She works closely with the principal to schedule meetings and align the principal’s vision with that of the PTA. She is the compass by which our executive board functions. Her knowledge and understanding of PTA guidelines and bylaws are second to none. She keeps our meetings on track by providing a detailed monthly agenda. Her collaborative approach creates a sense of equality, and her calm demeanor helps to maintain an atmosphere of respect. She continually researches creative and fun experiences for our students. Beyond the board meetings Jenisa fields most parent concerns and complaints. She does this with a smile on her face and a helpful demeanor that puts both adults and children at ease.

As Treasurer Jenisa’s role is to carry out all the financial business of the PTA. Not only making sure the money is deposited and dispersed correctly but also providing extensive records of said transactions (monthly). Her ability to quickly understand and catch on, has made her remarkably proficient at various digital platforms. She utilizes those platforms to organize and maintain goods and services provided by vendors, fundraising companies, and assembly opportunities.

Beyond the operational qualities Jenisa brings to the board, families, and our students, she also brings the fun. She is fun, funny, and always willing to participate. From running harvest festival games to cheering kids up with otter pops, she is pure joy to be around. Our staff loves her, our moms and dads love her, our kids love her. I consider myself lucky to work alongside her, but I feel blessed to call her my friend. I highly recommend Jenisa Law to join your team.  She would be an asset to any program and services for both children and adults. If you need any further information or have questions regarding Jenisa Law, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Marlena Reyes, Counselor
