  • Participate in 14 days/month of hospital call, independently managing dental and facial trauma through splinting and acute stabilization, as well as odontogenic infections requiring incision and drainage, suture placement, and penrose drain management; assist OMFS in emergent extraoral infection and trauma cases in the operating room
  • Provide comprehensive dental treatment under general anesthesia four times per month for special health care needs and pediatric patients unable to tolerate treatment in a traditional clinical setting due to medical or behavioral complexity
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care with oncology, transplant, anesthesia, and surgical teams; complete and execute pre-procedural dental clearance and definitive treatment to optimize patients prior to systemic therapy
  • Work closely with the Head & Neck Oncology service, assisting during oral cancer resections and reconstructive procedures (including radial forearm and fibula free flap cases), gaining exposure to surgical planning and functional implications of maxillofacial reconstruction
  • Independently treatment plan and execute endodontic therapy within a hospital-based model, utilizing CBCT for diagnosis and retreatment planning while sequencing care appropriately around systemic considerations
  • Present quarterly literature reviews and complex treatment planning cases to 40+ attending dentists and hospital providers for continuing education credit, reinforcing evidence-based decision-making and interdisciplinary dialogue
