Conscientious physical therapist with over 27 years of experience in out-patient orthopedic, home health and in-patient rehabilitation. Excellent reputation for resolving problems and improving customer satisfaction.
As an in-patient rehabilitation PT at the Deaconess Midtown location, I perform evaluation and treatment for multiple diagnoses including but not limited to post operative orthopedic, respiratory and cardiac, amputees, neurological disorders (CVA, PD, MS), wounds, bariatric, brain injury, and multi trauma. I have training in wound vacs, wheelchair assessment, fall prevention, Bioness, and multiple sclerosis. I work closely with patients and their loved ones along with the rehabilitation team to meet the primary goal of restoring patients to a safe and functional level of mobility and prepare them for discharge to home and/or community.
I worked at ProRehab from its infancy as part of an original staff until 2017. The first 10 years I served in the outpatient clinical setting in a variety of locations and received evidence-based training in SFMA, lumbopelvic and cervical manual therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, and NM taping. During the next 7 years, I worked part-time as a Home Health Specialist serving a variety of clients, mostly geriatric. This allowed me to observe deep needs within our community regarding housing and caregivers for the elderly; it also allowed me to be home with my 3 children after school.
Upon graduation, I served in a PT-owned outpatient clinical setting in my home town of Kokomo, Indiana. Here, I began taking courses in orthopedic rehabilitation, wound care, and was ASTM- certified by Performance Dynamics. I served in this position for four and a half years before moving to Newburgh, Indiana with my husband and newborn son.
Community Engagement
I have attended Bible Study Fellowship for the past 22 years. I have volunteered as a small group leader for women and children, as well as playing the piano for weekly large groups
I have been a small group leader for middle and high school girls and served as pianist and assistant choir director
I have been a part of several mission trip teams including Marrs Hill NC, Pikeville KY, Glenwood Leadership Academy, and Glenwood and Tepe Park Neighborhoods in Evansville, Indiana. Typically, this work has included construction, as well as community picnics and choral productions.
