Summary

I have been learning about and investing time in the restaurant industry since I was only ten years old. Matt Murphy Pub was a family owned small business that gave me the opportunity to gain experience in how to greet customers, take orders, and work well with others. At Matt Murphy's, I waited and bussed tables. At the end of the night I would count and recount the sales as we were cash only. During the pandemic, I gained another great learning experience in something completely different than I have ever done before. Takeout was a whole different world that I got to be apart of first hand. Sadly, Matt Murphy's was forced to close during the depth of the pandemic despite our incredible customer support.


During my sophomore year of high school, I re-entered the work force as a server at a French-Thai fusion restaurant called Pon Thai Bistro. Working there further advanced my knowledge of the industry, as I moved out of my comfort zone to an unfamiliar place. Matt Murphy's prepared me for the constant flow of takeout orders while also managing customers dining inside with us. I became a more independent worker, and I feel even more ready to take on my next endeavor of employment.

Hobbies

In February of 2023 I completed my thirteenth of ice hockey. I had been playing since I was five years old. I played both inside and outside of school and was on a variety of competitive teams. Hockey has given me the chance to connect with younger kids in the Brookline community. On the weekends during hockey season, I have been given the privilege of joining them on the ice and helping them develop into strong young players.


I have been playing guitar for twelve years. As a proficient player, I both use it as a tool for relaxation and brain stimulation


I deeply love reading. I take time to read up on current events and find joy in sitting down with a novel nightly.


Additional Information

I am actively learning Spanish and will to do so through my continued education. I also plan to learn American Sign Language, as I feel it is incredibly useful and not learned nearly enough.
