Jenni Steele

Recent music therapy graduate who interned at an award winning, nonprofit music therapy organization that delivers inclusive, anti oppressive, anti-ableist, community based music therapy for neurodivergent and disabled individuals, and individuals with neurologic and mental health needs. Recipient of full tuition Chancellor's Scholarship from Duquesne University with extensive experience working with numerous populations. Engaged in multiple leadership opportunities outside of music based activities.

• Duquesne University Drum Circle-led and observed group sessions of a mixed (multiple clients from different stages of life) population of the greater Pittsburgh area, utilizing techniques such as community music therapy, the Iso Principle, and entrainment.
• St. Anthony's Program-led and observed 1 hour group sessions of 25-30 neurodivergent adolescents with goals of self expression, improvement of communication skills, and improvement of self regulation and coping tools.
• Wesley Family Services-led and observed 1 hour individual and group in person and telehealth sessions of neurodivergent and disabled children and adolescents with goals of improvement of coping skills and self regulation and self expression.
• UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh-led and observed individual sessions of hospitalized individuals in the NICU, PICU, and general in patient pediatric unit, ranging from 0 months-17 years old, providing NICU-MT and procedural support for goals of normalization and pain management.
• Community Life- led and observed individual and group sessions of older adults with varying diagnoses (dementia, Alzheimer's) with goals of improvement of quality of life, increasing socialization and peer engagement, and cognition.
• AHN Hospice-led individual sessions of adults and older adults receiving Hospice care due to terminal diagnoses, with goals of improvement of quality of life and socialization.
• St. Joseph's House of Hospitality-led group sessions of older adult, housing insecure men and veterans with goals of increasing socialization and peer engagement and improvement of cognitive stimulation and quality of life.
