Additional Information
As a parent of a child with Type 1 Diabetes, I have made it my mission to understand all aspects of this disease. I currently volunteer for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and moderate the weekly virtual support group. Within the last year, my family has raised over $50,000 for this organization. I am passionate about finding a cure and until then, I want to be as helpful as I can to caretakers and patients alike. I believe I would be extremely beneficial for an elementary-age child with a 504 plan that includes an aide who is especially knowledgeable about this disease.
