Michigan Army National Guard-CSMS
Lansing, MI
09.2015 - 03.2017
  • Operated the Global Combat Support System- Army (GCSS-A) computer program every day for the Michigan Army National Guard. This involved accepting work orders packets for over 60 Army National Guard units. This process included creating work order packets and scheduling appointments for the units to bring their equipment to be repaired or serviced. Prior to the GCSS-A, I managed the SAMS-2E computer program. On a daily basis, data was transferred between computer systems for statuses of work orders and sent to each unit to update their computers. Monthly the AMS State reports (Army Material Status System) for the entire state of Michigan were completed which consisted of 61 National Guard units. This data was sent to LOGSA to allow the National Guard Bureau to read the needs web of the state. Communicated with supply sergeants to let them know to pick up their equipment when repairs/services are completed. Closed work orders were scanned and uploaded to a public website that each unit had access to view the paperwork. Filed the closed work orders for historical use. Assisted the supervisor as needed with creating new production reports, service schedules and work order reports. The reports helped with the flow of work as far as making sure that the oldest work orders are being done first or that vehicles with the most needed repairs were repaired first. Customer service.

One computer system and all 14 units equipment data loaded at the computer which means all the information pertaining to each truck, trailer, weapon, generator, etc. Anytime that a piece of equipment needed to be repaired/serviced, a work order was created for that piece of equipment. The work order was created on the computer system and then the data was sent to the second computer and a second work order was created so that the mechanics could repair/service the equipment. Work orders were prioritized according to the amount of work that needed to be done and when they it was getting the equipment back to 100 percent or just minor repairs completed. Updated status on each work order daily so that each unit would know the status of their equipment being worked on. Entered man hours each day for each mechanic so that the supervisor could track the man hour report weekly, monthly and annually. When work was completed, closed the work order and filed the paperwork accordingly. Managed the Government Purchase Card for FMS1. Each month a report was submitted to higher headquarters for spending accountability. Submitted the AMS State reports (Army Material Status System) monthly to the CSMS. Responsible for reporting status for work orders to the CSMS, which involved sending and receiving data between 3 computer systems. Assisted the supervisor with any production issues and work plans. Coordinated with all units when their equipment was ready to be picked up or dropped off at FMS1 and when their equipment was ready to be picked up or dropped off at the CSMS. CW2 - Army National Guard - 920B Logistics Officer

Assigned to the Warehouse section of JFHQ. Assisted on drill weekends for the OIC (Officer in Charge) and helped supervise the 9 soldiers in the JFHQ warehouse. Ensured that everyone was at drill and that they were doing the work that pertained to their position. Managed the warehouse by supervising the workers so that they took care of customers when soldiers arrived to do CIF turn-ins and made sure the paperwork was correct and then placed items in the proper bins so that it was put back on the shelves. Assisted workers in doing class 9 turn-ins for equipment and that the paperwork was done correctly and put in the proper area depending on which state it was getting shipped to. Assisting individuals in my section when they needed to go to a military school that they knew where the school was and that they were prepared for that school. Kept all personnel in my section informed of drill dates and any special equipment or gear that they needed for drill weekend. As an assistant supervisor, conducted After Action Reviews at the end of drill so that we could give feedback to the Commander on our activities from our drill weekend. As a leader I also talked to my soldiers to make sure that they were not having any pay issues or any personal issues that they needed assistance with. I also informed the commander of personnel status each day for drill. During the month when I was not at drill, I also coordinated with my soldiers for any missions that were going on for the next month and let them know whether they would be in Lansing or at another location.
The above is the most current position that I had in the Michigan Army National Guard. I served in the military for over 24 years. I served 6 years on active duty and the remainder of my time was in the National Guard.
