Philosophy

I believe every child deserves the opportunity to develop to his/her greatest potential. The development of a positive self-concept and independence is the background needed to insure success in the child's future. A child who gains recognition for his/her accomplishments becomes an interested and eager learner. A healthy self-image is essential to a child's success in life. I also believe that we, as educators, need to be caring and compassionate when it comes to dealing with our students. Sometimes students need a teacher who truly cares for them and is understanding of what might be going on with them at home. I believe that teachers who support their students in activities outside the classroom will reap the benefits of having students more willing to excel in the classroom as well. I also feel that as a professional, we should help our co-workers in ways in which the children would benefit. We are each other's greatest support system and when we work together we can help every child reach his/her greatest potential.
