Summary

I am a Cordele native and graduated from Crisp Academy in 1998. My entire education was at Crisp Academy from K4-12th grade. I was inspired to become a teacher due to several teachers who greatly influenced me.

I am a passionate Elementary Teacher for 8+ years in both rural and urban settings. I have a proven history of creating engaged classroom environments supporting diverse educational styles. Versatile student-oriented approach consistently supporting optimum performance and advancement.

I worked in the literacy/reading department at Berrien county. I learned a great deal from my mentor, Gail Melton. She taught me how to foster reading skills in students who were currently struggling. She taught me how to DIBELS test and how to perform accurate running records.

When I was hired at Irwin county elementary, I taught technology to all grades. This involved how to navigate Google, create websites, learn to type, and perform research based assignments for all subjects. After several years, I taught science and social studies in 4th grade. The past three years, I have taught Kindergarten. This past school year, I had a Special Education classroom.
