I believe that teaching is a daily journey—one that begins with a commitment to building trusting, respectful relationships with students and continues through intentional, reflective practice. As I prepare to teach Science, Math, and Technology within Early Childhood Education at Manhattanville University, I bring with me a philosophy grounded in the principles of the Responsive Classroom approach. I prioritize social-emotional development alongside academic learning, fostering inclusive classroom communities where learners feel safe to take risks, explore, and make sense of the world around them. By nurturing curiosity and confidence through responsive, relationship-driven teaching, I aim to empower future educators to bring that same sense of wonder and discovery to their own classrooms.
I have had the joy of teaching on many different grade levels at Fox Meadow Elementary School. I have taught kindergarten, first, second and third grades. Throughout each of these experiences I have had opportunities to:
Member of the English Language Arts Committee
Participate in the Mentor Program
Union Representative for my building-2 years
Present Responsive Classroom Practices at Parent Coffees
Member of the Assistant Principal search committee
