Communication is key and there are a variety of ways that to support the school system through an HR role. Monthly newsletters highlighting updates, new policies, reminders, Frontline Tech tips, etc. would be a tool that could be implemented to keep employees abreast of changes.
Organization and time management are essential. My personal motto is be a servant leader and support the teachers and students making the teacher's jobs easier. This philosophy can be beneficial in the role of a Human Resource Facilitator as well as we are the support system for our employees. Being a servant leader is crucial, be seen and work alongside others in the department to ensure that we make procedures as seamless as possible.
Relational and emotional intelligence is a key to developing a rapport with those we serve. Learn the names and faces of those we serve. Connect on a personal level, much like students, their emotional needs must be met before anything else follows. Commit to supporting teachers, be an active listener, and take that extra step to get to build a positive rapport. Strengths include building relationships, coaching/implementing the curriculum effectively, using data to drive decisions, and effectively leading through communicating and by being a positive role model, solution-oriented, and supportive.
After two years of leading Caneview Elementary, our school has seen an increase in our SPS and in all assessment indexes. It has been an honor to cultivate a positive learning environment where teachers adapted a growth mindset, which resulted in increased student achievement.
