Volunteer

  • YMCA / Program Leader (Fellowship)

           Program Leader will help students develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills by providing assistance, tutoring, and mentorship in the  Program. Will provide academic enrichment and tutoring in classroom groups of up to 20 students, as well as organize and provide outdoor recreational activities in the school yards.

          As the assistant to the Wellness Director it was my responsibility to set up before starting sessions. As well I would communicate and demonstrate the correct exercises that were programmed throughout. I learned how to navigate through sudden events that could have jeopardized the program for the day.          Mentoring and providing guidance to prospective transfer students and/or first-semester transfer students at SF State.
Assisting the TPM Program Manager with designing and executing creative activities, events, resources, and tools to facilitate transfer students’ transition to SF State.
Coordinating and assisting with transfer events, outreach, and engagement activities at SF State.
Improving the TPM Program's visibility within SF State to both students and other campus partners. Including, but not limited to, updating and creating content for TPM social media accounts.
