Senior Program Manager for the Florida Accreditation Office. Works closely with 200+ Law Enforcement Agencies, 40 Offices of Inspector Generals, 38 Correctional Facilities, and 10 Pre-Trial and Probation Entities. In addition to working with these various groups, I am also a Subject Matter Expert in them as well. The Florida Accreditation Office is run by two commissions who ultimately provide agencies with their accredited status. Additional duties include visiting agencies, teaching a few different classes - Managing the Accreditation Process - I created a module in PowerStandards for a hands on experience for the classes. I teach The New Assessor Orientation - a mandatory class for individuals whom work for an accredited agency to become assessor - I created a module in PowerStandards for a hands on experience for the new assessors so they don't go on their first formal assessment without seeing the software. I teach Assessor Refresher - a mandatory class that all current assessors must attend at least once every three years. I teach the Team Leader class that is an invite only class that provides experienced assessors with the tools to lead the formal assessment teams. I will also co-teach numerous accreditation or PowerStandards related class at our conferences which occur three times a year. I work closely with agency heads, CEOs, Sheriff's, IG's, etc.
Statewide accreditation manager for the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Bureau of Law Enforcement. I played a vital role in ensuring all accreditation standards were met and maintained. This was very mission specific agency with a scope focused on Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, albeit the sworn members were full law enforcement officers for the state. I traveled the state, visiting each of the Divisions 12 District Offices to teach about the latest standards, discuss policy and form updates - which I too was in charge of. Worked closely with PowerStandards.
Statewide accreditation manager for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Office of Inspector General. This office had the main location in Tallahassee and four other locations scattered throughout the state. I maintained the accreditation process for the agency, ensured the policies and procedures were current and correct, and was assigned to other administrative type duties (transcribing investigations, handling sensitive paperwork, etc). This position lasted less than a year simply because the position with Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Bureau of Law Enforcement became available.
I started my career with the Florida Department of Transportation, Office of Motor Carrier Compliance in 2006 as a data entry clerk, I quickly promoted to the Accreditation Manager role in 2008 - I was trained to be the Accreditation Manager and an Assessor in April 2008. In addition to maintaining the statewide accreditation for the agency I also revised, researched, and maintained the agencies policies, procedures, and forms - during this time, everything was completed via paper and USPS. In or around 2010 I was asked to be a Beta Tester for the new PowerDMS platform. I really enjoyed being a part of this opportunity.
