In my near 30 years of nursing, I have had the opportunity to learn nearly every aspect of critical care, in both the hospital and clinic setting. I am eager to use my background to progress to a leadership position.
I worked for an electrophysiologist for 8 years in both the hospital and clinic setting. I rounded on post op patients and assisted the doctor in procedures. During this 8 year period i became proficient in management of all devices and computer mapping for ablations. I was able to increase productivity in the clinic setting, as our volume increased.
During this time, i worked in the Electrophysiology lab. This included being a circulating nurse. The duties included sedating patients and administering cardiac IV medications, monitoring respiratory status and hemodynamic monitoring. While working in the Electrophysiology lab, I was able to learn the role of scrub tech during surgical procedures and ablations. I also became proficient in two separate 3D mapping systems. I was recruited for next job from this position from one of the cardiologists.
