Dynamic Certified Pharmacy Technician with extensive experience at Walgreen's Pharmacy, recognized for implementing workflow improvements that enhanced service delivery and reduced wait times. Proficient in medication preparation and insurance processing, while demonstrating exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues efficiently.

I worked with Sav-on Pharmacy for almost 15 years as a pharmacy technician. When I started working in the pharmacy it was 09/21/2019 and I was 19 yr old, I was just a clerk at Sav-on. I progressed with Sav-on to become a pharmacy technician licensed with the Board of Pharmacy in California in 2003.

I left Sav-on 02/01/2004 due to the company being on strike for over 6 months and went to work at Walgreens as a pharmacy technician in 02/04/2004 and in the first 12 months of employment I was able to get my PTCB Certification and have been a Certified Pharmacy Tech now for the past 20 years. I have worked in many different Walgreens and with many pharmacists over the years, even working and as a licensed certified pharmacy tech in a Houston, Tx Walgreens for three years. I am currently the Lead Senior Certified Pharmacy Tech at the Walgreens located in Studio City, CA and have been in this store for a little over 7 years now.

I work with my team to make sure we are courteous to customers and maintain empathy while ensuring we follow all company guidelines with accuracy and speed. Myself and our team make sure the patients are getting their medication in a timely manner and provide a friendly attitude.

I help our Rx Operations Manager and Pharmacists by making sure daily tasks are completed with the help of my fellow team members, and help supervise the training of new students and new hires. I am proficient at inputting insurance, making sure we are billing correctly by gathering the necessary ICD-10 codes and other requirements that must be met by each individual insurance.

I am able to decipher written prescriptions from the doctors office and make sure the directions are typed in correctly and the medication selections are also correct before sending on the the pharmacist for review.

I help maintain the inventory of medication with constant rotation of expiration dates, pulling any outdated medication, making sure the shelves are clean, and shelves are properly labeled with the medication names in the spaces provided for them.

I am knowledgeable in the salvaging of medication to make sure they are either sent back to our warehouse to be disposed of or sent to a designated place to be safely disposed of.

I am CPR licensed and also Vaccination trained I have been administering Covid-19 and Flu vaccines now since 2020. I am one of three vaccinating pharmacy techs in my store and I love being able to provide this extra care for my patients.

I also make sure we have ample supplies of prescription pads, supplies for the vaccines, medication vials, rx labels and leaflets, etc. I make sure our OTC section is stocked and in date along with our diabetic supplies of test strips, machines, and such reordering as needed.

I am well versed in answering phone calls and also calling doctor offices for refills or clarifications on prescriptions, as well as calling insurance company's to get prior authorizations or general coverage info to complete billing on a patients prescription.
