My career in biotechnology has provided a strong foundation that will translate well into nursing practice. Working in biotech has strengthened my understanding of human biology and evidence-based decision-making. It has also taught me the importance of accuracy, critical thinking, and adherence to safety protocols when working in healthcare-related environments. These skills will support my ability to provide safe, effective patient care while applying scientific knowledge to clinical situations. Additionally, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in biotechnology has enhanced my communication and teamwork skills, which are essential components of professional nursing practice. Areas of scientific expertise include oncology, hematology, and infectious disease.

Led publication collaborations with key external physician experts for Oxbryta® (voxelotor) for the treatment of sickle cell anemia. Managed publications to coincide with voxelotor launch.
Drove collaboration with key external experts and cross-functional colleagues to develop peer-reviewed publications to support Pharmacyclics’ oncology and chronic graft versus host disease portfolios.
Led scientific collaborations from study inception through to manuscript publication with outside investigators in the hematology, infectious disease, and transfusion medicine communities.
Responsible for designing and implementing in vitro cell-based assays and in vivo models to screen therapeutic drug candidates via internal efforts and managing contract research organizations. Led cross-functional project teams responsible for prioritizing and directing research.
