Accomplishments

I am currently a full time phlebotomist for Cooley Dickinson and I am enrolled full-time in the GCC LPN program. I am meeting and exceeding the expectations of my instructors.

I was employed by Mercy Medical from 5/8/2017-1/2021. I was a EDT Preceptor. I was responsible for the shift duties of phlebotomy, patient vitals, patient wound care and basic needs, chest compressions during codes, maintaining the cleanliness of our work areas and equiptment maintanance. I was a go to person when nursing staff or providers need difficult skill specific tasks performed. I take pride in my skills and I help others perfect their abilities.

I was employed by Fresenius for seven months. I learned so much during my employment in regards to End Stage Renal Disease. I was responsible for all aspects of a dialysis treatment process. Initiating, monitoring, ending procedures and reporting concerning and usual findings to my Bay RN or CN on duty.

I was employed for seven years with the American Red Cross. During my employment I was expected to have a high PSR (phlebotomy success rate) and had achieved and exceeded the expectations every month. My lowest rate being 98.54. I also had one of the highest amounts of phlebotomys preformed per drive/day consistently over the past several years. I had an excellent working knowledge of QC in regards to equipment used daily and maintenance preformed on each.

I was employed by Cooley Dickison as a phlebotomist. I was a morning daily draw floor phlebotomist. I was also stationed in the ED as a phlebotomist. I was always prompt, reluable ans skilled with my draws. I had a good work relationship with those around me and was familiar with the hospital as I grew up in Florence.

In my past experience in an ED I worked at Holyoke Medical Center. I was responsible for drawing all labs, waived testing, 12 lead EKGs, blood pressure, transport and general care of emergency patients. I performed chest compressions during codes in the trauma room. Assisted the Doctors during procedures with ease. Processed and transported deceased patients to the morgue.

In my past experience in a lab I worked collecting, processing blood, aliquoting, packing specimens ranging from blood, serum, stool, and pap samples chain of custody blood and urine samples, STAT and similar specimens properly and in a timely manor. I was responsible for training and guiding new staff with vein choice, angle, tube selection, and processing specimens.
