I have worked in the after-school Program for about three years now. In the past three years, I have been responsible for supervising the kids in the cafeteria, playground, and gym from 2:20 pm to the time they leave, which is 5:30 pm. I was responsible for planning art and academic activities for the kids. I helped them learn new skills in math, reading, and writing in both languages. Additionally, I also had the opportunity to work with other kids from the other elementary schools and build great relationships with them and their parents.
I worked as an instructional assistant for the Migrant Summer School program for a first-grade class. This was my fourth year working there. My shift started at 7:30 am. From 7:30 am to 8:00 am, I would supervise the students in the cafeteria and at the playground before classes started. Classes began after recess. During class, I helped supervise students throughout the day, along with helping them learn new skills in reading, math, and writing in both English and Spanish. We would do fun activities with the kids like playing with Legos and working on art projects.
