  • Administers pertinent State fiscal policies, Graduate Medical Education (GME) policies, including rules and regulations mandated by the national Residency Review Committee (RRC) of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)

Residency Recruitment

  • Oversees all aspects of the annual residency recruitment process including communication with prospective residents, scheduling of applicants and faculty for interview days, meals, transportation, data analysis of applicants for the resident match process and intern onboarding process.

Residency Data and Record Keeping

  • Coordinates all required electronic record keeping that serve as the data processes for the Residency. Manages ERAS, the on-line Residency recruitment tool, used as the mandatory resident "match” system. Oversees Amion OnCall), the system required by the University of Colorado Hospital for physician Oncall scheduling. Oversees MedHub, the software required by the Graduate Medical Education (GME) office for resident reporting. Additionally, manages the various other software systems used to evaluate trainees (FasTrack, ACGME WebAds, GME Track).
  • Manages hard copy and electronic files of residents who enter or leave the program, and responds to requests for confirmation of Residency or letters of reference.
  • Prepares reports for the Department or others to satisfy needs, such as ACGME studies, program reviews, retreats, audits or others, as requested.

Fiscal Management for Internal Medicine Education Unit

  • All financial management activities are under the overall direction of the Department Finance Administrator, who has overall responsibility for departmental funds, serves as the Fund Administrator and overall approving official. Within these parameters, the Program Administrator:
  • Prepares annual budget for Residency and Student Education, processes and and monitors revenue and expenditure activity for each source of funds.
  • Provides detailed reconciliation of expenditures of the various sources of funding and budget proposal annually.
  • Manages all funds related to the Residency and Student Education, whether those funds originate from hospital support of residents and the training program, GME support, departmental support, grants and contracts, gift funds or other sources. Volume of funds and resources management is anticipated to be approximately $12,000,000, with funds supporting residents generated from the hospitals and other sources.
  • Manages program MOUs and grant funding for trainees in specialized programs.
  • Utilizes standard University and Department systems for accounting, data processing and other computer systems, as necessary, for financial management and statistical reporting. Utilizes multiple systems for purchasing, human resources, facilities management, daily operations and other business activities, and maintains expertise in these systems.

  • Oversee Student Clerkship Education Coordinators for Department of Medicine, Internal Medicine Clerkships and keeps up to date on requirement changes.
