Summary

Working in the mental health field, there has been much learning in how to utilize personal mental health experiences in order to aid and support those who are currently in recovery from mental illness, and/or substance abuse. Through these experiences, learning how to become a constructive and fruitful leader towards peers, has led to flourishing patient and peer recovery. Continuing an education in researching the effects of mindfulness on the neurology of the brain, will allow for the integration of these findings into personal mental health counseling practice.
