Summary

After working in my family business for many years and having twins, I am looking to enter the workforce in my related educational field and feel that working from home on as a higher education or K12 instructor would be a perfect fit for me. I have a double degree in Sociology and English with a writing emphasis from the University of Washington. I also have post-baccalaureate credits in English Literature as well as 2 years of Spanish at the college level. I have worked with students and youth in many capacities for almost 3 decades, including preschool age teaching, foster care, extensive volunteer work at multiple K-12 schools and volunteering many hours at my own children's school. In addition, I am well rounded and have extensive knowledge in human resources and employment related duties. I am computer literate in Microsoft, Google, Video conferencing platforms, and all related apps and learn technology quite easily. I also have multi-faceted on the job training in accounting as it applies to small businesses. Between balancing co-owning a business and running our household with 12-year-old twins, I am very proficient in time management and like to ensure I am early or on time for all deadlines. I learn quickly and enjoy a varied and challenging work dynamic. I have excellent communication skills and am committed to creating a positive learning environment for students. I am also a lifelong competitive swimmer, and still enjoy competing at a masters level today.
