Jeremiah Fields

Summary

I am currently a Detective with the Clark County Special Investigations Unit. I have ten years of experience as Deputy Sheriff with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, four of which were as Deputy Sheriff and six years as a Detective. I also have nine years of experience working in adult correctional facilities. I have 16 years of experience teaching Defensive Tactics. I have also been a Field Training Officer as a Corrections Deputy and Deputy Sheriff. I am highly motivated to assist the Sheriff’s Office in fulfilling the mission, vision, and values.

Deputy Sheriff

  • I began working as a Deputy Sheriff with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in June of 2016. I was assigned to patrol for four years. During that time, I was a Defensive Tactics Instructor and a Field Training Officer, tasked with teaching new Deputy Sheriffs how to perform the duties required. I became a Detective in August of 2020, and my primary task was to investigate drug distribution in and around the Clark County area. I partnered with local and federal law enforcement when conducting drug investigation. I was also tasked with conducting forensic downloads of cell phones for ongoing investigations. I maintained the surveillance equipment for the Sheriff’s Office, was a UAS operator, and I was a member of the Mobile Response Team.

  • I was a Corrections Deputy with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. I worked in an adult correction facility. I was assigned various tasks within the jail to include intake of newly arrested individuals, monitoring incarcerated individuals in the living units, and responding to emergencies within the jail. I was also a Field Training Officer, tasked with teaching and mentoring newly hired Corrections Deputies with on-the-job training. I was also a member of the CRT team.

  • I began working as a Corrections Officer at Larch Corrections Center. It was an adult male corrections facility that housed 480 adult male inmates. I monitored inmates in a housing unit that housed 240 inmates. I conducted patrols of the unit, area searches, and daily operations. I was promoted to Sergeant after about three years. I supervised Corrections Officers in the performance of their duties. I was often the highest-ranking supervisor at the facility and supervised up to 13 officers at a time. I began teaching defensive tactics in 2010 and was a member of the Special Emergency Response Team. I completed SWAT Basic and the DOC SERT academy in 2011.
