Accomplishments

Black Student Union Treasurer, Winona, MN

  • As Treasurer of the Black Student Union, I played a critical role in overseeing all financial operations. I developed and implemented a structured system to safeguard organizational funds while ensuring full compliance with university policies and financial regulations.

Prentiss Lucas Dormitory Treasurer and Hall Council, Winona, MN

  • In this role, I served as the sole manager of the residence hall’s financial credit card, overseeing all purchases for Hall Council events and community gatherings. I also played a central role in proposing and developing a comprehensive plan to revitalize our living space, including the acquisition of new furnishings to enhance the residential experience.
  • As a member of Hall Council, I worked closely with the President to ensure that residents’ needs were effectively represented and addressed. I gathered feedback from students, including recommendations regarding dining services, and communicated those concerns through the appropriate administrative channels to advocate for improvements.

KEAP Council, Winona, MN

  • I was subsequently invited to join the KEAP Council, a collaborative body dedicated to supporting and amplifying smaller campus organizations such as Indigenous Peoples Club, Sexual and Reproductive Rights, PRISM, and TISO, among others. In this role, I served as a liaison and spokesperson, presenting concerns and initiatives to the Vice President of Student Life. I also played a key role in facilitating constructive dialogue between faculty and KEAP representatives, helping both parties address concerns and strengthen mutual understanding to foster a more unified campus community.

Freshman Seat on Student Senate, Winona, MN

  • I served in the Freshman Seat on the Student Senate, where I contributed significantly to the work of the Equity and Inclusion Committee (EIE). I supported the planning and execution of our Festa Latina celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month and served as the spokesperson for the International Students Panel.
  • In addition, I served on the Judicial Committee, where I was responsible for drafting and revising Senate bylaws to ensure clarity, accountability, and alignment with institutional standards. In this capacity, I also participated in deliberations regarding club recognition decisions and matters concerning senatorial standing.
  • Finally, I introduced a formal motion to revise the Student Code of Conduct to more explicitly address verbal abuse and microaggressions. Throughout this initiative, I collaborated closely with the KEAP Council, faculty members, and the Vice President of Student Life to advance meaningful policy reform.
