  • Facilitated communication between transportation companies and customers to efficiently handle shipping of their coils. We have an on-time delivery percent of 80% or better
  • Negotiate freight rates in alignment with specifications and needs from our customers, this would also save anywhere from 5-7% back into a freight gain for the company. Also negotiated a rebate contract with the rail road so that when we exceeded our rail car orders, they sent us a rebate check for going over are target that was built in the contract
  • Worked closely with our shipping team to keep them notified of sales department orders and shipping opportunities. This allowed quicker time for shipping to get trucks or rail cars. Customers know and expect that prepaid freight is shipped faster than anyone with competitive rates
  • Built relationships with the railroad and trucking companies to improve our shipping performance. A 200% improvement on getting rail cars to the mill to ship coils. Trucks want to ship at North Star as we have a 20–30-minute scale in and scale out time.

  • Project manager in charge of starting up our single line invoice project. The goal was to have up and running in 2017. We were successfully up and running in 2017 with a goal to achieve 10k tons per month by 2018. We have achieved our yearly goal totals every year
  • We currently today do 30K tons per month of single line invoice. We outside process Pickle and Oil, Slitting, and Galvanized/Galvanneal. Accurately keep track of all inventories once it is shipped to processors, daily reports of inventory from processors, customers and track on time delivery to customer and achieve 80% or better
  • Built and established strong partnerships with teams, suppliers, and customers. This allows us to be competitive in the market and make money on every ton we do single line invoice. We started out with only doing outside processing with 5-6 customers. Today we now doing business with 20-25 in a month
  • Coordinate orders with processors and make sure that monthly target volumes are hit. Also track quality and provide claims rate back to processors if rate exceeds 1%
  • I negotiated a contract to have a third-party website to do all the EDI transactions with the processors and the mill. The main focus for this vendor was to keep track of the inventory that is at the mill and at the processors. We started with only two processors but today we now have 5 processors that we can use to process our coils
