Professional Interests

Empowering clients or staff with a Solution-Focused approach, and through their unique gifts. discovering or enhancing communities, particularly through the ways in which they support and develop people who struggle. Peer support is a mode in which I have worked in various ways, such as launching a “peer tutoring” program in a high school (1982), assisting in the development of an unaffiliated men’s support group (1994-1999), or participating in the ways that peer support happens in 12 step or other self-help groups. In addition, networking to connect people with community or other resources has been an ongoing approach in both my friendships and my work.
