Dedicated to personnel safety and comprehensive leadership techniques. Adept at thinking outside the box and continual self improvement and learning. Highly involved in teaching and instructing wildland, structural, rescue, company officer, and leadership classes and courses throughout the department, county, state and region. Teaching is what I love about the fire service. A firm believer that everyone should always be training yourself out of a job and developing those under you to be the next leaders.
I worked with Pennington County Rapid City Emergency Management to implement a CERT (Community Emergency Response Teams) FEMA program to Pennington County. I became a CERT Train the Trainer instructor. I trained twelve instructors in the program and worked hand in hand to build our program. We launched a Teen CERT and Adult CERT classes that we held four times a year. We trained over 150 students and adults in the CERT program and curriculum while I was a part of the program. The program still stands today as a one of the many programs the Emergency Management Office oversees.
