Though I knew little about FIRST Robotics when I joined the team, I quickly became adept with the CNC machine, manufacturing precise parts and taking the lead in building our robot. During the season, I treated robotics as a full-time job, working 30-40 hours per week. We won the Engineering Inspiration award and made it to the world championship in Houston, Texas, in April. Being on the team taught me commitment and how to work collaboratively.
I met Jes through a family friend three years ago. She lives in our neighborhood and is housebound with severe multiple sclerosis. I help out multiple times a week with tasks ranging from taking care of her cats to organizing her home.
I babysit up to five children at a time in Brooklyn. I bring them to and from events, cook for them, and introduce them to activities and games. Babysitting is a big responsibility and has helped me build patience. I frequently dog-sit for up to a week at a time for our upstairs neighbors.
Sailing has taught me discipline, and the speed at which I picked it up shows that I am a quick learner. I began in summer 2024 and am currently pursuing skipper certification with the Hoboken Sailing Club.
