  • Locate all underground utilities for public utilities and homeowners using a vast variety of tools.
  • The use of Metallic locaters, GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), the use of a sonde, traceable flex rods for pinpointing nonmetallic utilities at their locations.
  • The use plastic water pipe acoustics for pinpointing the locations of nonmetallic water lines.
  • The use of cameras with sonde to inspect, map out and mark sewer lines and storm lines.
  • Concrete Structural Scanning. Scan concrete walls, floors and ceilings, bridges, to map out reinforcements, such as post-tension cables, rebar and conduits.
  • Providing depths and thickness of concrete walls and reinforcements.
  • Electrical Ground Fault Finding. I would introduce a combination of an electromagnetic radio frequency along with a small amount of amperage into a conductor, then trace and designate where the insulating of a conductor is diminished and mark out the point of the fault.

  • Utility locater in southern Oregon. Located underground utilities. Responsible for contacting utility representatives, troubleshooting unlocatable facilities, damage prevention, scheduling routes, and managing workloads.
  • Supervisor in Seattle running a crew of 25 locating underground utilities. Investigation of line strikes, resolving issues with excavators, contractors, and homeowners. Making schedules, making sure timelines are met. Trouble shooting of unlocatable utilities. Daily contact with area PI’s (Pipe Inspectors) and utility representatives.
  • Area Manager. Managed the northwest profit center in Washington with a total of 30 technicians, and 2 supervisors. Resolved employee conflicts, hiring new utility locators. Training the new technicians by ELM’s Star training. Managing budgets and timelines and making sure technicians followed safety procedures in place. Working with utility representatives and holding monthly meetings on quality and performance.
  • State Auditor. Auditing the work of the technicians, making sure lines are marked accurate, and per marking standards. Retraining technicians by bringing them back to the job site when lines are not located in dig areas or poor quality is found.
  • Vice President of KUCC (Klamath Utility Coordinating Council). Volunteered on the KUCC board in damage prevention through safe digging to prevent line strikes on utilities, and teach the dig laws through classes with excavator’s, contractors, and homeowners.
