Engineeringprojects

  • Process Improvements, A customer escalation due to premature failures led to process improvement projects. After reviewing the process inputs, it was determined that our fixtures we unable to consistently apply the consistent force. This resulted in improper distribution of a bonding agent and part failures. The result was implementing new fixtures. This decreased scrap by 5% and testing costs by $85k.
  • Value stream Kaizen, The Kaizen event looked at defects that were impacting yield. During the event the team identified areas such as training, machine performance, and documentation that required updates. The team implemented a robust training program that staged an associate being able to operate equipment without oversight. Identified insufficient machining documentation and implemented process improvements that increases first pass yield by 2%.
  • As the lead for a high-impact CNC first-pass yield improvement project, I am leading efforts to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste. Early in the project, we identified two key areas with significant potential for yield enhancement. I am leading the initiative to revise and improve our setup standards by incorporating a buffer tolerance. This strategic adjustment is designed to minimize the need for rework and reduce scrap rates, thereby optimizing overall yield and driving cost efficiencies. My role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, implementing new processes, and monitoring performance metrics to ensure successful outcomes
