• Improving The Frequency and Duration of Skin to Skin Holding to Promote Parental Confidence in NICU, Active Participant in Project- PUBLISHED, 2019, 2020, Collaborated with team to research to improve outcomes of neonatal infants by gathering data on skin to skin holding. Implemented procedures and educated staff on ways to improve skin to skin holding time. Compiled results and calculated statistics to present to staff showing 62% increase in skin to skin holding of neonatal infants after procedures were implemented.
• Less Invasive Surfactant Administration (LISA) Trial and Policy Implementation, Active Participant in Project Design and Implementation, 08/01/21, current, Worked with a collaborative team to create a policy and procedure to trial LISA procedure. Participated in planning stage to overcome hurdles to implementation, problem solved areas of difficulty, created written procedure, provided education to prepare staff, and worked with staff to identify candidates for procedure. Gathered data on infants who received procedure and compiled data to infer outcomes. Worked with staff to identify areas of improvement in procedure implementation. Updated staff at quarterly education meetings on procedure changes and data findings. Working with collaborative team to create permanent policy of LISA procedure implementation to create practice change.
