I have been a professional firefighter for nearly 24 years. I am currently the oldest and senior most Rescue Captain on R-1 for the City of Ashland. I am highly trained in all rescue applications. I am also a member of the newly formed Kentucky Task Force 1. I have been a member of Ohio Task Force 1 in the past. These are state and FEMA based Urban Search and Rescue Teams. I am co-owner and operator of RescuePro. This is a confine space rescue company. We have worked all over the county and world. I have worked in side many plants over the years. We work in several air separation plants, to large HYCO plants, to any kind of industrial plant where confine space standby may be needed. In the past, I have worked around and on heavy equipment. My background has been working in high stress environments under some of the worst conditions possible. I am very good at learning on the fly and accepting new challenges.

To Whom It May Concern:
I want to thank you for the opportunity for applying. I want you to know that I love my job as a firefighter. I have been doing this for almost 24 years. This job has been good to me and provided for my family. I have a loving wife and two wonderful boys. There comes a time in ones life that they have to make tough decisions. Firefighting is not only a very rewarding job, but it is also a very stressful environment. The stress it puts on your body physically and mental is a lot. I am 46 years old and still in great shape. I feel it is time to move on. Marathon is somewhere I have always had an interest in. I have had several friends work there and they always talked about how it was a great job. Most importantly, it was like a family. Well, the fire service is the same way. Although I know that this job also has a lot of stressful parts to it, it also has the same family atmosphere. This is what I want to be apart. Also, I would love to eventually be apart of the fire and rescue within Marathon. Again, thank you so much for your time and the opportunity.
Thank You,
Jesse Ison
