As a corrections Officer my responsibility was not just about myself but to the hundreds of inmates I worked with daily. I was held to a very high standard to learn and follow all policies and procedures. At that same time I had to learn how to conduct my self during the dozens of interactions with aggressive inmates. I have become very skilled at talking inmates out of being verbally or physically aggressive. As well as knowing when and how to use the varying degrees of force. I have learned how to be very proficient at record keeping towards duties like, logs, cameras, reports, and pass downs. I have been able to work very well with my crew as a team and have always been able to accomplish all of my daily duties without issue. I have been involved in a number of different incidents which have helped me learn additional skills such as: radio communication, officer safety, use of force, reviewing cameras, logs, time stamps, crime scene preservation, searching property, strip searches, frisk searches, use of shields, handcuffs, shackles, making forced entries into dangerous locations and much more.
