After obtaining my AA degree, I plan to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in publishing and editing, along with minoring in Women & Gender studies. My career goal is to become a developmental editor to promote more diversity in literature and increase the modes of literacy for all children.
As a former WITS student and mentor, I worked alongside the non-profit's CEO to write a speech about my experiences with WITS and the importance of the organization's work towards improving literacy for CPS children. I then delivered this speech at the WITS Gala Fundraiser to their donors.
