- Perform diagnostic images based on Physicians orders and what body part is needed to be imaged. As a radiologic technologist it is very important to prevent unnecessary radiation to both the technologist and the patient by following the correct techniques and proper patient positioning. Most importantly a radiologic technologist must provide excellent patient care. A technologist must have great communication before, during and after exams to ensure the patient feels comfortable, and confident in your abilities. Not only that but patients should also feel safe throughout the entire exam.
