Assisted in the created and coordination of a monthly Billing Countable between the FQHC organizations in Minnesota and our governing bodies.
Participated in revenue cycle processes, coordinating work of up to 10 team members focused on maximizing profitability and increasing revenue. Increased insurance and patient revenue by 50% in the first year, and consistently by 10-15% each year after.
Successfully negotiated the return of over $25,000 in reversal amounts from a large insurance company due to their lack of communication with providers on changes to claim requirements. Also was able to obtain the return of reversal amounts for all the other FQHC facilities in Minnesota.
Implemented and maintained a automated insurance verification (eligibility) system for the Medical and Behavioral Health Departments.
Created extensive training documents, and created/implemented new training protocols that were not in place previously. Was able to streamline training into all four learning styles to accommodate any new employee and their particular needs.
Assisted in the HRSA site visit conducted on FQHC facilities every 3 years. Our facility was able to obtain a 100% score on over 92 elements required to be compliant. Which included an entire chapter on the Billing Department and Sliding Fee Discount practices.
Reviewed, resubmitted, and successfully obtained reimbursement of over $15,000 for monies paid for lab services that should have been billed to insurance by the Lab Company and not charged to the facility.
Improved Revenue Cycle Operations significantly over the past 3 years; which includes increase in revenue, higher return on accounts receivable and net revenue, by continually assessing, identifying, redesigning, implementing and measuring process improvement plans.
