Accomplishments

  • Worked with hospital administration to develop the first COVID Drive-Through Screening Program in the state of Michigan at the onset of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
  • Developed advanced protocols for the triage and cohorting of COVID patients within the emergency department.
  • Developed protocols and processes within the emergency department to streamline care for domestic violence and sexual assault patients.
  • Partnered with HAVEN, Oakland County’s comprehensive program for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. HAVEN provides shelter, counseling and advocacy, as well as educational programming to communities and health care providers. This partnership worked to improve the transition from emergency department to outpatient care.
  • Worked with hospital administration to develop an MOU with HAVEN. Part of this agreement provided an onsite office for evaluation and treatment of sexual assault and domestic violence patients.
  • Educated providers on sexual assault and domestic violence and worked with hospital administration to develop training for EC nurses.
  • Organized a multidisciplinary committee to improve care of our mental health patient population. Goals were to decrease length of stay, improve care within the department, reduce the use of chemical or physical restraints, educate emergency department staff on deescalation techniques, implement the use of telepsychiatry and decrease security events.
  • Created a new onboarding and longitudinal curriculum for emergency department APPs.
  • Drafted new CME/discretionary funds policy in conjunction with APP governance council
  • Assisted in the development of the Geriatric Accreditation team. This program was created to provide the highest standards of care to our vulnerable geriatric adult population within the emergency department.
  • Organized a multidisciplinary committee to streamline and provide compassionate care to patients experiencing miscarriage in the emergency department.
  • Served on Emergency Department Quality Assessment Committee to review patient care concerns and evaluate care provided. Worked alongside emergency department physicians to develop broad educational highlights to emergency department team members based on committee feedback.
