• Care for patients in 36 bed, Regional Level 3 NICU
• Work as a Resource RN and attend all neonatal codes, Complicated deliveries and caesarean sections. Admit deliveries from L&D and assist the primary RN in all other admissions. Transport to diagnostics and assist with bedside surgeries as needed. provide help to other staff as needed, provide breaks when available and stock medication rooms / prepare admission rooms.
• Float to Pediatric ICU / Pediatrics; Postpartum (I care for both the mothers and babies in couplet care); Well Baby Nursery and L&D (In L&D, I only assist in newborn resuscitation & post birth care)
• I have also been cross-trained in the adult ACU / PACU, where I work when census is low in the NICU.

• A travel assignment at Children's Hospital Orange County in their level 4 NICU / Small baby unit with float to PICU.

Kaiser LAMC: NICU / PICU / TELE

• Level 3 NICU caring for patients including but not limited to premature neonates, Pre & Post op patients, Ostomies, Central lines, sedation drips, EEG / Neuro patients, BPD, vented patients (SIMV ETT; Trach), HFNC and CPAP
• PICU caring for patients 2 years old and younger, including but not limited to Pre/Post Op patients, EVD, Central lines, Parent education with home vent training, Trach /GT, SIMV/HFNC/CPAP

• Telemetry adult care / Telemetry Adult Covid 19 Unit

• 58 bed - level 4 NICCU working within interdisciplinary health care team to develop, implement and make adjustments to patient care plans, individualizing strategies and methods to improve health and meet recovery goals.
• Administer and/or titrate IV medications including but not limited to TPN / Lipids, vasopressors, prostaglandin, sedation, antibiotics and blood products.
• PIV insertion, Assist with PICC & Umbilical placement, Central/Arterial line management.
• Trained family members in how to care for patients and manage individual conditions.
• Assisted respiratory therapists in managing respiratory support utilizing: High frequency ventilation (JET & Oscillators), SIMV, CPAP.
• Pre/Post operative management
• Therapeutic Hypothermia / EEG / Seizure / Hydrocephalus

• Provide high level of quality care in the level 3, Neonatal ICU unit while working closely with the NICU treatment team.
• Manage patients on traditional ventilators / oscillators, HFNC, bubble CPAP, cardiac monitoring and transducers.
• Administer medications and fluids by PIV and central lines to critically ill neonates while closely monitoring patient conditions. PIV placement.
• Monitor fluid intake / output for electrolyte imbalances. Monitor nutrition + caloric intake requirements.
• Guide and educate parents and family members on developmental care of premature neonates and ill newborns, infant safety, infection prevention, medication use, feeding, safety and parental-infant attachment.
• Attend both vaginal and c/s deliveries as the infant recovery nurse.
• Assist with central line placement, intubation, chest tube placement, circumcision and other necessary procedures.

• Partner with physicians, social workers, activity therapists, nutritionists and case managers to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Pre and Post operative patient care.
• Patient teaching and discharge.
• Facilitated therapeutic communication, conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
• Worked with Covid-19 population, utilizing proper infection prevention strategies while providing patient and family education on limiting transmission.
